1991 Pontiac Sunbird
From the LiveJournal user Cupboardwitch -
"My ever-so-responsible teenage son let his even-more-irresponsible (and brain-dead, not to mention UNLICENSED) friend drive his car; a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird. It actually happened four years ago, but this community seems like the best place to post it.
The dumbass driver was trying to shoot across a really busy street on a small residential side-street. The east and west ends of this street are not directly across from each other and a small negotiation is necessary when crossing. Well apparently it was a bit much for him and jumped the curb and hit the wire attached to this pole just perfectly in the center of the front of the car so that the car literally slid up the wire.
Apparently his story about having been going the speed limit didn't hold water because the rear bumper of the car was pressed into the ground enough that it was obvious the car had gone further up the wire and then slid back down, embedding the rear license plate in the dirt when it impacted the ground. There were scuff marks up the wire another 3 feet beyond there the front bumper is resting in this picture.
None of the idiot occupants were injured. A winch truck brought the car back to rest on all fours. It suffered no damage other than a slice to the plastic cover on the front bumper where the wire cut into it."
